LTF Recruitment is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Pastoral Assistant for a welcoming secondary school located in the Derby, DE1 area. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to work closely with the school's pastoral lead to create a supportive and positive learning environment.
Job Role: Support the pastoral manager with creating a positive learning environment for students, building positive relationships and working to improve behaviours & attendance.
Role Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the pastoral lead to improve student behaviours and attendance
Provide targeted support within the classroom to students facing social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) challenges
Conduct one-on-one sessions with students to address specific pastoral concerns
Respond to on-call support requests as part of the pastoral team
Regularly review and adjust educational plans based on ongoing assessments and progress monitoring
Complete risk assessments for students to ensure a safe and supportive environment
Develop positive relationships with students to encourage positive behavioursPerson Specification:
Experience in a pastoral or similar role within a school setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence in supporting students effectively
