Salary: £160 - £205 a day
Ofsted rated “Good” SEMH Provision located in the London Borough of Greenwich is currently seeking an experienced part time SENCo to join a successful provision on a temp to perm basis to start immediately.
The successful applicant will have broad experience in a SENCo position and responsible for ensuring that children with special educational needs (SEN) receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
Successful SENCo
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
Experience of working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or other specialist SEN setting
Knowledge of SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
Experience of completing EHCPs and working with external agencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
Working closely with SEN Teachers, parents and external agencies to identify children with SEN and develop appropriate EHCPs
Providing guidance and training to teachers on how to support children with SEN in the classroom
Supporting teachers to differentiate their teaching to meet the needs of children with SEN
Working closely with the Headteacher and governing body to ensure that the school is compliant with the SEN code of practice
Managing the school's SEN budget and liaising with external agencies to secure additional funding where necessary
Ensuring that all EHCPs are completed and reviewed in a timely manner
Providing support to children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
Liaising with the local authority and other professionals to ensure that children with SEN receive the appropriate support
Maintaining accurate records of children with SEN and ensuring that they are kept up to date
You have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one immediately
