Job Title: Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bournemouth

Pay: £12.82 per hour

Start Date: September 2024 (immediate start possible before the summer holidays)

Duration: Part -Time

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on children’s education and social development? Do you have the relevant skills and experience to work 1:1 with a pupil who needs additional provision in order to engage and progress? We have an amazing opportunity in one of our local mainstream primary schools, situated in Bournemouth, to work as a part-time teaching assistant, supporting a child with special educational needs (SEN). The school are seeking an individual who is confident, adaptable and nurturing, with a resilient personality able to support the challenging needs displayed, and ultimately form a positive rapport with the pupil.

Position: Teaching Assistant with SEN Experience

Responsibilities:

Work closely with teaching staff to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for a pupil.
Provide one-on-one support to children from Key Stage 1 with special educational needs.
Foster an inclusive classroom environment so that the pupil feels included in lessons
Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to assess and address the unique needs of pupil when needed.
Qualifications:

Previous experience as a teaching assistant, ideally with SEN experience, or similar roles supporting challenging behaviour/ needs.
Understanding of diverse learning needs and effective strategies for support.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
To work with GSL Education, you must:

Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
