Prince Personnel are working with a growing business who are looking for a part-time Financial Controller on a permanent basis. You will form an integral part of the senior leadership team to develop, deliver and exceed business performance, strategy and direction. There is currently 1 direct report. The role is initially hands on as well as strategic. You must be able and willing to get hands dirty and support the finance team with day-to-day tasks as well as be a leader within the business.

You will be responsible for:

* Manage all finance operations including, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition

* Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

* Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements

* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

* Additional controller duties as necessary

* Develop financial strategies

* Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure and recruiting roles as required to prepare the business for future success

* Oversee the company's transaction processing systems

* Implement operational best practices

* Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced

* Oversee the company's issuance of financial information

* Report financial results to the board of directors

* Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

* Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

* Direct Line Management responsibilities with the Finance and HR team (2 direct reports) and wider management responsibilities as a senior leader within the business

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must be fully qualified with a proven track record in leading a finance function within a smaller business or a finance management role within a medium to large company. You must have a commercial not just numbers mindset and be a strategic thinker.
