Location: Durham, County Durham
Search Consultancy is looking for skilled, time-served Painters & Decorators to join an active commercial and residential refurbishment project in Durham. We are partnering with an established finishing sub-contractor requiring experienced tradespeople for high-quality internal and external decoration works.
If you have a valid CSCS card, your own tools and whites, a valid UTR number for CIS payment, and take pride in delivering a clean, flawless finish, we have immediate starts available.
The Role & Responsibilities
Surface Preparation: Sanding down, filling, rubbing back, and knotting woodwork, plasterboard, and masonry surfaces prior to painting.
Internal Painting: Applying undercoats, gloss, emulsions, and specialist coatings to walls, ceilings, architraves, door sets, and skirtings.
External Decoration: Preparing and painting external timber, masonry, fascia boards, and metalwork where required.
Quality & Protection: Masking off floors, fixtures, and fittings, keeping work areas clean, and maintaining high finishing standards under project deadlines.
Requirements & Qualifications
CSCS Card: Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker or Gold Advanced Craft in Painting & Decorating preferred, NVQ Level 2/3).
CIS Registration: Valid Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number for CIS self-employed payment.
Experience: Time-served Painter & Decorator with a strong track record on commercial, residential, or refurbishment sites.
Tools & Kit: Full professional painting kit (brushes, rollers, scuttles, extension poles, prep tools, whites) and standard 5-point PPE.
Reliability: Keen eye for detail, clean finish, and reliable attendance.
Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
