Paint Production Team Leader

The Paint Team Leader will lead a team of Paint Operatives during their day to day activities and support the Leadership team in producing high quality products, on time in full.

The Paint Team Leader is the first line of management supervision within the factory and should behave in a way that represents the business culture, playing a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing / production area and ensuring focus on SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, COST, PEOPLE) is at the forefront of all activities. All Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring their team has the appropriate tooling, training and performance measures in place to produce high quality work in a safe manner, in line with company standard.

Acting as the responsible person for their area, they will report safety concerns, upskill their staff, report on performance, quality and safety standards to the Operations and Facilities Director. Day to day man management is crucial to this role to ensure Production deadlines are met.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Planning and Scheduling: To support the Production Planner to develop robust production plans and resultant schedules.

* Staff Management: Supervise and lead production staff, including training, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.

* Quality Control: To help develop, implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure that products meet the specified standards.

* Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to create a secure working environment.

* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.

* 5S Champion: Sort, Set In order, Shine, Standardise & Sustain (5S's) - work through issues.

* Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.

* Equipment Maintenance :Coordinate preventive maintenance for production equipment to minimize downtime.

Specific knowledge/skills that are required:

* Previous experience in a Paint shop with hands on experience of the process

* Previous experience leading a small team (between 8 – 12 people) within a manufacturing environment

* Competent to communicate with all levels of the business

* Proficient in computer skills

* Ability to escalate/challenge quality concerns, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions

Working Hours: 7.30am – 4.00pm Monday – Friday
Basic Salary: £39,520.00 per annum + overtime
