Packhouse Line Leader

Great opportunity to work as a Line Leader for our client's growing and packing tomatoes.

Staffline is recruiting Line Leaders in Bramford, Ipswich.

This is a temp-to-perm position, with the opportunity to move to a permanent contract after 12 weeks.

Due to the location of the site in Ipswich, candidates must have access to their own vehicle or reliable transport to travel to and from the workplace.

The rate of pay is £15.38 per hour up to 48 hours, with overtime paid at £19.23 per hour for all hours worked over 48.

This role operates Sunday to Saturday on a 5 day rota. Standard working hours are 06:00-15:30, though finish times may vary. You must be prepared to work until duties are completed. Weekly hours typically range from 40-48.

Your Time at Work

During your time as a Packhouse Line Leader your role will include:

- Leading and motivating a small team to deliver strong performance throughout the shift.
- Operating top seal and flow wrap machinery in line with company SOPs and training.
- Ensuring all packed products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Preparing packing lines ahead of shift start and supporting efficient changeovers.
- Maintaining accurate labels, paperwork and production records at all times.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors and the wider operations team.
- Highlighting any production or staffing concerns to the Packhouse Supervisor or Head of Operations.
- Supporting continuous improvement, cost saving initiatives and on the job training.
- Ensuring fruit is rotated correctly by harvest date and quality.

Our ideal candidate will have fluent English, strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

You will bring previous experience from a fresh produce packing environment, including hands on experience running top seal and flow wrap machinery.

You will be a natural team leader who can motivate others, work professionally under pressure, and adapt to changing workloads - especially during peak periods. A commitment to quality is essential, helping us maintain our targeted service level of 99.95%

Experience in a similar role is required.
