Are you a strategic procurement professional with expertise in packaging sourcing, supplier management and cost optimisation?

We are recruiting for an experienced Procurement Packaging Manager to join a leading manufacturing business, taking ownership of a significant packaging spend portfolio and driving procurement excellence across a diverse supplier base.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, building long-term supplier partnerships and supporting business growth through commercially astute sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement procurement strategies across primary, secondary and tertiary packaging categories

* Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, service, innovation and value are consistently delivered

* Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions to achieve cost savings and favourable terms

* Identify opportunities to improve supply chain resilience and mitigate procurement risks

* Monitor market trends, commodity movements and industry developments to inform sourcing decisions

* Collaborate closely with NPD, Operations, Technical, Sustainability and Supply Chain teams

* Support packaging innovation projects from concept through to implementation

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver measurable cost efficiencies

* Ensure supplier compliance with quality, environmental and ethical sourcing standards

* Manage procurement budgets and report on supplier performance and spend analysis

About You

* Proven experience within Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management

* Strong background managing packaging categories within manufacturing, FMCG, food, consumer goods or related sectors

* Experience negotiating high-value supplier agreements and delivering cost-saving initiatives

* Commercially focused with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

* Excellent stakeholder management and supplier relationship-building skills

* Understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes and market dynamics

* Experience driving sustainability and innovation projects would be advantageous

* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
