Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outreach Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and services to children and their families, helping to address their needs and improve their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Support: Provide one-on-one and group support to children in various settings, including schools, community centres, and homes.
Assessment: Conduct initial assessments to determine the needs of the children and families.
Planning: Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of children within the community and with other service providers.
Resource Coordination: Connect children and families with appropriate community resources and services.
Outreach: Actively engage with the community to identify children in need of support and raise awareness about available services.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided, in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: Previous experience working with children and families, particularly in a support or outreach role.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of community resources and child development
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children and families
Clearances: Must pass a background check and have a valid drivers license
