Description:

OSS Commissioning Lead required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Scotland.

Responsibilities

Developing a commissioning strategy for the whole plant.
Approving the contractor's commissioning philosophy.
Working with the main contractors, developing a detailed commissioning plan.
Managing the communications and documentation interface to parties including National Grid ESO and the Transmission Owner.
Approval of specific commissioning programmes for specific items of plant.
Ensuring appropriate Health, Safety & Environmental compliance during all commission activities.
Ensuring all plant equipment meets the contractual requirements.
Witnessing and sign off of commissioning activities to meet operational, Grid Code and commercial requirements.
Developing a system of documents and document management to permanently record the plant commissioning.
Ensuring delivery of as-built records.
Ensuring that all commissioning is done to the highest health and safety standards.
Understanding how the company's Electrical Safety Rules will be applied.
Ensuring adequate internal resource is available throughout the process.
Weekly and monthly reporting to the Project Director.
Oversee commissioning activities from PC ensuring all commissioning is completed on schedule.
Engage with stakeholders in regular joint commissioning meetings.
Deal with the ESO when requiring EON/ION .
Work with the completions department to ensure the correct flow from construction to commission takes place.
Apply commissioning protection settings to the circuit during the commissioning phase and restore afterwards.
Ability to fault find on protection circuits including interrogation of relays.
Create Commissioning switching programs/schedules to ensure all aspects of commissioning is captured.
Provide weekly reports to management.Requirements

5+ years' experience as a Commissioning Engineer.
Qualified in an electrical or mechanical discipline (ONC / NVQ / SVQ L3 / HNC).
5+ years' experience in the offshore wind farm industry (specifically on OSS).
Ability to hold operational authorisations enabling you to act as a Competent Person.
Have experience commissioning large rotating machines and / or high voltage electrical system components, plant and equipment.
Demonstrate knowledge of safe working practices and risk assessment procedures IOSH.
Valid UK working rights
