Active Force Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected optical retailer for an Optical Consultant to join their team in Portishead .
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment, and takes pride in helping customers find the right optical solutions for their individual needs.
The Role
As an Optical Consultant, you'll be responsible for providing an outstanding customer experience from the moment a customer enters the store through to the collection of their eyewear. Working closely with the clinical team, you'll recommend suitable optical products, provide expert advice, and ensure every order is dispensed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their vision and lifestyle requirements.
* Recommend and dispense suitable frames, lenses, contact lenses and accessories based on clinical recommendations.
* Explain product features, benefits and pricing clearly to help customers make informed decisions.
* Ensure accurate ordering, dispensing, fittings and collections, delivering a "right first time" service.
* Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
* Maintain high standards of compliance with clinical, legal and operational procedures.
* Support colleagues and contribute to a positive, customer-focused team environment.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience working as an Optical Consultant, Optical Assistant or within an optical retail environment (essential).
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Confidence in recommending products and achieving sales targets.
* Ability to explain technical information in a clear and approachable manner.
* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
* Well organised with excellent problem-solving skills.
* A positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping customers.
