About the Role

We are seeking an Operations Technician to join a busy Operations team, supporting the day-to-day running of facilities, safety, quality, and operational activities across a highly regulated technical environment.

This is a varied and fast-paced role that sits at the heart of site operations. No two days are the same. One day you may be coordinating maintenance schedules and contractor visits, the next you could be supporting quality

documentation, communicating operational updates across the site, or helping to manage health and safety activities.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring operations run smoothly by supporting processes, systems, facilities, and people across multiple buildings and technical teams.

This role would particularly suit:

An experienced laboratory technician looking for a broader operational role
An operations coordinator or administrator from a technical environment
A proactive STEM graduate with strong organisational skills and an interest in operations, quality, or health & safety
What You'll Be Responsible For
Operations & Facilities Support

Support the day-to-day running of site operations activities
Coordinate maintenance, servicing, and contractor visits across laboratories and facilities
Work closely with technical teams to schedule activities that minimise disruption to project work
Support asset management and maintenance activities through business systems and processesQuality & Compliance

Support Quality Management System (QMS) activities and document control processes
Assist with document updates, change requests, quality records, and operational documentation
Help ensure operational processes are followed correctly and consistently
Maintain accurate records and support quality reporting activitiesHealth, Safety & Environment (SHE)

Support delivery of health, safety, and quality improvement activities
Assist with incident reporting, action tracking, and SHE-related processes
Contribute to the development of a positive safety culture
Support compliance activities and the implementation of best practice proceduresCoordination & Communication

Provide updates and communications to large stakeholder groups when required
Coordinate meetings, actions, schedules, and operational activities
Work closely with technical teams, facilities management, engineering teams, contractors, and administration functions
Build strong relationships across the organisation to help resolve operational challenges quickly and effectivelySystems & Continuous Improvement

Use systems such as Microsoft Office and D365 to support operational activities
Support SharePoint, document management, and operational tracking systems
Contribute to process improvements and the development of new operational ways of working
Help maintain the smooth and efficient running of operations across the site
About You
You are organised, confident, proactive, and enjoy working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.
You'll bring:

Experience working in an operational, technical, laboratory, facilities, or administrative environment
Strong organisational and coordination skills
Confidence working independently and taking ownership of tasks
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
A practical, common-sense approach to problem solving
The ability to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure
Desirable (but not essential):

Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Exposure to D365 or similar business systems
IOSH, NEBOSH, or Health & Safety knowledge
Experience working within laboratory, scientific, engineering, manufacturing, or regulated environments
Understanding of facilities management, maintenance coordination, or operational support activities
