Operations Manager (Plant Nursery)
£40,000 - £45,000 + Private Healthcare + Attendance Bonus + Overtime + Company Benefits

Are you an Operations Manager with Horticulture knowledge looking for a key role where you will have strong influence and decision-making power across the branch? Do you have experience running day-to-day plant nursery / garden centre operations and leading a team?
This is a permanent position with a well-established, family-feel employer, offering stability and recognition alongside real ownership of operations. You'll be trusted to run the site, shape standards, and drive performance without the red tape of an overly corporate environment.
The business has been established for decades and operates multiple nurseries, supplying plants to support a wider contracting operation while also servicing retail customers. They're doing well, growth is firmly on the cards, and they're continuing to invest in people and benefits.
You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, managing staff, rosters, meetings, vehicles, infrastructure/assets, and working closely with buying and marketing while focusing on increasing profits.
This role suits a manager motivated by being well rewarded, having real responsibility, and being recognised for running a site properly (rather than a role purely built around climbing a long corporate ladder).
The Role:
Oversee the day-to-day running of a busy plant nursery and yard operation
Manage the team (planning rosters, holding weekly meetings, and ensuring safe/effective delivery)
Provide strategic advice and assist growth within the business
The Person:
Experience in a garden centre / plant nursery environment
Good plant and horticultural knowledge
Proven people management experience
