Zapsa LTD is a specialist Talent Acquisition Consultancy working in the Renewable Energy, Environmental, IT, and Sustainability sectors. Our client provides Civil engineering solutions and traditional construction services across the UK. Due to continuous growth, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in Exeter.

About the Role

The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utilities and civil engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.

* Oversee day-to-day operations of the company, including project management, resource allocation, and scheduling.

* Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.

* Coordinate with various departments, including engineering, construction, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless workflow and project delivery.

* Monitor project timelines and budgets, identifying and addressing any issues or delays promptly.

* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control measures.

* Lead and mentor a team of project managers, supervisors, and field staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.

* Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term business plans and objectives.

* Evaluate and recommend investments in equipment, technology, and infrastructure to enhance productivity and competitiveness.

* Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and positive outcomes.

* Analyse performance metrics and financial data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.

* Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

* Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have:

* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, utilities / civil experience is ESSENTIAL

* Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.

* Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.

* Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and quality standards in the utilities/civil industry

* Ability to analyse complex data, make informed decisions, and solve problems effectively.

* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

* Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving targets and exceeding expectations.

* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
