A fantastic opportunity to work as an Operations Manager has come up at a dynamic construction company. Based out of Dartford this position is the head up the current Operations function. You will be responsible for managing through an excellent team of contract and project managers who are themselves responsible for an approx. team of 100. As part of the Senior Leadership Team you will be expected to be involved in strategic decision making and be comfortable reporting to the board.
Responsibilities
Participate as a member of the Management Team in formulating and executing Operational strategies, plans and budgets to ensure corporate goals are achieved
Lead, coach and mentor the Operations Teams ensuring high performance
Manage the performance and accountability of the Project/Contracts Managers Team, ensuring regular review and feedback meetings take place
Overview whole project schedule to provide workflow continuity and consistency
Assign new contracts to the best suited Project/Contract Manager for effective delivery
Provide strategic advice and support to overcome project challenges and client disputes
Oversee training and development of the Operations team, promoting continuous development
Manage the recruitment process for employed and contracted resource within operations department to ensure optimum manpower at all times minimising downtime
Oversee efficient and effective day-today labour schedules and resource management
Manage the operational department in accordance with Company's Health & Safety, Compliance and Quality policies
Uphold a high standard of Health & Safety compliance throughout the organisationExperience/Skills
Strong management skills with ability to grow strong collaborative relationships with strong personalities in order to drive results
Experience in resource planning for both planned and reactive maintenance - Essential
Knowledge in the Civils/ Landscape/ Groundworks/ Maintenance industry - Essential
Experience with operational systems, H&S, and ISO - Essential
