Z-Tech are recruiting an Operations Manager to lead the ATEX & Electrical Services business unit, to join our senior management team working collaboratively alongside three other Business Unit managers reporting to the Head of Operations.

This is a high energy and rewarding role overseeing the operational delivery and strategic development of the ATEX & Electrical Services business unit.

Z-Tech Control Systems (a part of M Group Services) provides specialist Mechanical, Electrical, Control and Instrumentation support to the UK’s Water, Energy and Adjacent market sectors. We’re dedicated to working with our customers to develop and implement environmentally sustainable and cost efficient solutions to business challenges, enabling them to remain focused on day-to-day operations.

Z-Tech’s Business Units:

Water – Serving the UK Water companies with EC&I maintenance, project delivery and contingent resource services.

Energy – Serving the UK Energy industry with EC&I maintenance, project delivery and contingent resource services.

Adjacent Markets – Serving the adjacent market and transport sectors with EC&I maintenance, project delivery and contingent resource services.

ATEX & Electrical Services – Providing ATEX and Electrical compliance services across our primary sectors (Water, Energy & Adjacent markets) across the UK.

The Role

Some of your responsibilities will include:
 
Development and enhancement of the team members and team culture to ensure fulfilment of personal and organisational goals
Account Management and development within existing and new customers in line with business unit strategy and scope
Improvement and enhancement of long-term relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders through contact, meetings and visits
Strategic operational development of the ATEX & Electrical Services business unit to meet the needs of the customer base and maximise opportunities within the scope of the Water business unit.
Identifying strategic initiatives to enable your team to solve their day-to-day problems that come in all guises: technical, customer, people, and contracts, to name a few.
Responsible for the growth and associated P&L for the Water business unit.
Delivery of the company budget and overall company strategy.
Ensuring the business unit complies with the company SHEQ standards and procedures. 
What do we need from you?
 
At Z-Tech we understand that not everyone will meet all the criteria, but we'd love to hear from you if you possess most of the following skills and experience:

Desirable – Formal health and safety & management qualifications.
Desirable – Good working knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE family of contracts.
Desirable – Technical, Operational or Project Management knowledge and qualifications.
Essential – Advanced Account Management skills and experience of growth strategies.
Essential – Excellent presentation skills and ability to engage audiences.
Essential – Competent user of IT, specifically Microsoft suite of software, MS Project, MS Office.
Essential – Advanced financial knowledge, forecasting, budgeting.
Essential – Advanced literacy & communication skills.
Essential – 5+ years full people management experience.
