Job Description

Purpose

In line with the Company and regional business plans, deliver the operational performance of contracts, ensuring programme requirements are met and financial, quality, health, safety and environmental targets and standards are achieved. Overall responsibility for meeting client and customer expectations.    

Specific Responsibilities 

Accountable for proactively managing the delivery of operational projects to programme in order to maximise returns and ensure high standards of health, safety, environmental, quality and customer satisfaction. 
Drive and support the operational teams to understand and contribute to the delivery of the overall business strategy.
Create, develop and review Sector Strategy with the Business Director to support the Business Plan.
Lead the delivery of the Sector objectives, targets and deliverables as outlined within the Business Plan ensuring standards meet client expectations and critical success factors.
Build and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders to establish excellent working relationships, built on trust and regular communication. Liaise with clients at a senior level, attend Core and Partnering meetings and functions, actively managing stakeholder perceptions.
Lead by example on health and safety matters, ensuring that all HSQ&E activity and reporting is accurate, legally compliant and within group policies, highlighting and resolving concerns when identified.
Ensure there is a suite of design/procurement/construction programmes in place that are regularly reviewed and action taken to assist delivery on time.
Ensure that the induction and contract delivery processes are being followed in line with the United Way of working. 
Ensure supply chain integration and collaboration appointing sub-contractor with best value in mind.
Strategic responsibility for resource planning and allocation to projects including demobilisation.
Manage, report and instigate continuous improvement by the effective use of KPIs.
Contribute and support the procurement process for supply chain, liaising with other departments accordingly.
Manage the Company’s obligations and rights under the terms of the contract.  
Jointly accountable, with the Commercial team, to ensure the effective control of finances on the contract. 
Provide up to date and accurate reports on the Contract progress and highlight any potential risk to the relevant parties.
Drive compliance in line with regulatory requirements.
Drive PQQ and tenders opportunities through the bid process, working with relevant bid teams and coordinating activities to meet submission deadlines. 
Lead the development of a superior workforce assessing their competencies, with a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and high performance. Support organisational and succession planning strategies. Lead all of the People responsibilities for the team including employee relations issues, undertaking and monitoring the completion of Performance & Development Reviews, supporting and coaching team members to achieve both individual and business objectives.  
For each project ensure robust processes to minimise defects.
Promote best practice and sharing information / knowledge within the business.
Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
Drive participation in the Considerate Constructors Scheme to achieve compliance.Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

A formal Managing Health & Safety Qualification

Proven track record of leading successful teams & exceeding performance targets

Programming and project management skills

Valid driving licence 

Ability to deliver impactful social value initiatives 

Proficient IT Skills - Word and Excel 

Experience of delivering excellent customer service 

Contractual and commercial focus, with a proven track record of achieving business targets, notably £20million / year
