We are excited to be working with Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult with this exciting Operations Director appointment. This unique role combines operations and project management, driving commercially focussed innovation and leading regional & industry partnerships.

The Role

* Senior leadership role within a leading offshore renewable energy organisation

* Responsible for operations, asset strategy, and capital projects

* Based in Blyth, with regional leadership responsibilities across the North East

* Reports directly to the CEO

Key Responsibilities

* Lead operations and performance of testing and innovation facilities

* Oversee CAPEX investment projects and infrastructure delivery

* Develop and implement asset strategy and long-term growth plans

* Drive operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement

* Manage risk, governance, and operational performance

* Act as Head of Place, leading regional engagement and partnerships

* Build relationships with:

* Government and regional stakeholders

* Industry leaders and OEMs

* Academic institutions and funding bodies

* Represent organisation at industry events and forums

Ideal Candidate

* Senior leadership experience in energy, engineering, or innovation sectors

* Experience managing large teams and high-value operational assets

* Proven track record delivering complex capital programmes

* Strong knowledge of industry partnerships and funding environments

* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

* Ability to influence at executive and board level

* Strategic thinker with strong operational delivery capability
