Job Description

As a leading Specialist Construction Products Recruiter, SRS Recruitment Solutions are Retained on a Sole Agency basis by a leading Specialist Distributor of Timber and Timber Products who due to continued success are seeking to recruit an OPERATIONS DIRECTOR.

Our Client is an award winning highly regarded distributor of Timber and Timber Products with almost 100 years of experience in supplying the Construction Sector, OEM’s, Fit Out Contractors, Timber Merchants, Builders Merchants and Specialist End Users centred around the North West of England with 7 stand-alone operations and circa 130 employees.

Reporting to: MANAGING DIRECTOR

As OPERATIONS DIRECTOR, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing production, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory, transport and team management to ensure timely and effective delivery of products to customers. A key part of the role includes managing health and safety systems and procedures to create a safe and productive work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities of OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

* Staff Supervision & Development, lead, manage, and mentor all operational teams

* Forecast operational needs, including staffing, equipment and resource allocation to meet business demand.

* Implement and develop operational strategies, process, policies and systems to improve efficiency, productivity and quality across all business functions.

* Ensure efficient and safe workflow and identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to streamline operations.

* Continuously monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of operations.

* Manage key operational projects from inception to completion.

* All Risk Management, identify operational risks and develop strategies to minimize disruptions

Skills & Experience Required – OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

* Proven experience in Operations Management

* Exceptional organisational and time management abilities

* Strong experience in warehouse procedures, inventory control and logistics

* Solid understanding of Health & Safety (IOSH)

* Experienced implementation of ISO accreditations

* Effective communication skills

* Customer-focused with sound commercial skills.

* Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook

Location/Area NORTH WEST OF ENGLAND
