The role
As our client evolves and scales, the Operations Manager/Director plays a crucial role in the seamless delivery of sustainability projects. This position demands a proactive leader capable of elevating project management frameworks, ensuring operational excellence, and driving forward the company's ambitious growth strategy. Ensuring the processes are correct and robust and providing leadership to the teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Central Support and Team Management: Oversee the central support team, providing day-to-day leadership and ensuring that each team member is aligned with our client’s mission and operational objectives. The role involves direct management of project/site managers and fostering a culture of collaboration between the central support team and the technical teams to facilitate the smooth execution of projects.
Process Optimization: Develop and implement robust project delivery processes to ensure that projects are completed correctly on the first attempt. This includes the introduction of standardized methodologies, quality control measures, and best practices to minimize risks of margin erosion due to project reworks. The Operations Manager/Director will be responsible for continuously reviewing and refining these processes to adapt to the growing scale of the business.
External Accreditation and Standards Compliance: As our client grows, there is a pressing need to achieve and maintain external accreditations relevant to the industry, ensuring compliance with evolving standards and regulations. The Operations Manager/Director will lead the efforts to identify necessary accreditations, manage the accreditation process, and ensure ongoing compliance. This initiative will bolster our client’s credibility and competitiveness in the market.
Scalability of Project Delivery: Strategize and implement scalable solutions for project delivery to meet our client’s ambitious growth targets. This includes expanding and diversifying the network of approved installers, developing scalable project management frameworks, and leveraging technology to streamline operations. The Operations Manager/Director will evaluate the efficacy of current practices and introduce innovations to enhance scalability and efficiency.
Customer Satisfaction and Referral Growth: Champion our client’s internal value of creating "customer Wows" by delivering exceptional project outcomes that exceed client expectations. The focus on first-time-right project execution is pivotal in fostering long-term relationships with clients and stimulating business growth through referrals. The Operations Manager/Director will play a key role in embedding a customer-centric approach within the project delivery process.
Strategic Contribution: While the primary focus remains on operational delivery, the Operations Manager/Director is expected to contribute strategically to the broader business objectives. This may include involvement in supply chain optimization, procurement strategies, and logistical coordination for both projects and the e-commerce platform. Additionally, by alleviating the CEO's operational involvement, this role enables a greater focus on strategic partnerships and business development.
