Description:

We are looking for a Operations & Communications Manager to work in the newly formed P3M (Portfolio, Programmes and Projects) Function Transformation Team as well as the wider Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO). You will be responsible for assisting with the design, delivery and coordination of communications and stakeholder engagement across the P3M Transformation programme as well as supporting the operations of the wider ePMO. Your focus will be on facilitating effective engagement across the wider Function to enable the P3M Transformation outputs (such as new ways of working, tools, processes etc), to be adopted and embedded whilst ensuring continuation of Business as Usual. You will be responsible for streamlining the way we engage and operate across the ePMO with a focus on effectively engaging the Function and wider business. Engagements may involve designing workshops, events, and conferences to raise the profile of the Function and the Transformation inside and outside of AWE. Working across a programme to improve the function as well as ePMO operations offers a great opportunity to expand business knowledge, develop, and ultimately be part of delivering something that truly plays it parts in transforming our business.

Location: We are in the Berkshire countryside between Reading and Basingstoke. This role is suitable for hybrid working.

Salary: From £45,110 depending on experience and suitability.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

A proactive, results oriented approach to communications planning and delivery.
Good written communication skills for use across a wide selection of communications channels.
Passionate about conveying clear messages and calls to action adapted for neuro-diverse audiences.
Demonstrable listening and questioning skills - able to get to the source of information and interpret, in plain English, appropriately to chosen audiences.
A proficient project/campaign coordinator and effective influencer.
Experience in utilising the most appropriate mix of channels to ensure a positive outcome to communication activities.
A positive self-starter and able to work well operating as part of a team.
Experience in managing and/or coordinating internal and external events.
Communication related post graduate qualification and membership of relevant professional body (IABC, CIPR, CIM) would be beneficial, but is not essential.
The ability to analyse, and interpret charts, spreadsheets, and schedules.
Comfortable working collaboratively with team members, taking account of different abilities and workloads.
Committed to translating strategy into operational reality, with excellent skills in making sense of complexity.
You can demonstrate tenacity and resilience professionally when working in a pressurised and fast paced changing environment.
Experience of working in a project, programme or portfolio environment.
Experience of change management.

Key Accountabilities:

Support the development and implementation of strategies and plans to enable the delivery of effective business operations, capabilities, and services.
The enduring delivery, measurement and monitoring of business operations, capabilities, and services to ensure maturity and improvements are achieved.
The delivery of continuous improvement, innovation and change management to ensure that the Business Area is recognised for developing and applying best practice across the enterprise.
Support the growth of academic, professional and industry relationships with AWE's key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that strategic alignment is achieved.
Develop and manage the change, communication, and engagement approach to support the Business Unit, in accordance with corporate strategies and business objectives.
Lead, coach and develop a team at a local level, where required, to deliver team and personal objectives safely and securely to meet our operational plans.
Deliver assigned projects in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost and quality.
Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a great team player.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage business operations, ensuring effective Governance within the Business Area, with a focus on compliance and reporting.
Management of stakeholder relationships both within the business unit and wider enterprise
Management of business operations resources (people, plant and cost)
Lead the planning of tasks/projects and the subsequent delivery to time, cost and quality.
Lead, support and initiate day to day business operations, improvements and changes in line with the business operations strategy.
Lead, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.
The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.

All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. It can take several months for clearance to come through.
