We currently have a number fantastic opportunity for an office-based technician to join the responsive repairs and planned teams working for our various Clients. Works can vary from general day to day repairs, voids, or planned works. The role is effectively to link the responsive repairs team with the planned team, and support day to day operational structure. To assist with the efficient running of the whole delivery team and provide operational support to colleagues.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Building Technician:

To understand the various Housing Association (HA) and general clients TMB work for and their current contracted rates normally to Natfed SORS. All clients have different working Systems/Portals and to be able to build a sound knowledge of those systems/clients.
To have or develop a sound working knowledge of Natfed SORS. To understand the various sections of the Natfed book and the implications of the preambles.
To recognise when SORS are not appropriate and to submit override rates and/or variations.
To arrange for sales invoices to be immediately raised on any completed works or provide completion SORs to admin staff for uploading onto Clients portals.
To assist and consult with the admin works co-ordinators/supervisors, particularly to understand issues with works, to enable subsequent accurate coding and valuations.
To understand the TMB Job Costings system. Ensure that costings are calculated and reviewed post completion.
To interrogate invoices on the Job Costing system and ensure that material and sub-contractor invoices are correct and queried when required. Authorise invoices relating to works.
To understand the different OH calculations in respect of employed, agency workers and sub-contractors. To make accurate assessments of anticipated costs and record same where required on the JC system.
Receive works orders (often coded) and pre-order specific materials in a timely manner in readiness for commencement on site.
To be prepared to provide sound argument when a client challenges SORS adopted and to seek amicable resolution with client representative to enable completion and raised invoice.
 Set up operatives job packs when required, electronically and liaise with planners to ensure the information is available to send when works programmed.
To be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and tenants as regards works
Desirable Experience & Qualification of a Building Technician:

Experience of NAT Fed SOR – preferred but no essential
Technical knowledge of Construction
Computer literate – Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience of dealing directly with Clients
Experience of analysing Information/Data
