Job Purpose
Are you ready to be at the heart of one of the UK's most ambitious energy projects? Join our team at Hinkley Point C (HPC), where you can play a vital role in shaping the future of energy in the UK. As an Operational Development Engineer (Technical Spares Review), you'll be instrumental in delivering the operational Supply Chain Strategy, ensuring the smooth operation of HPC Power Station.
Nature & Scope of the Role
Join our Spares Engineering Team within the Pre-Operations Engineering Programme. Work alongside experts in Equipment Reliability, Surveillance Programmes, and Procurement to ensure the seamless operation of HPC. As part of the Commissioning and Operational Directorship, you'll be at the forefront of managing all commissioning and operational activities for Hinkley Point C.
Principal Accountabilities
As an Operational Development Engineer, you will:
Manage timely production of spares strategies.
Maintain process documentation for end-to-end project processes.
Conduct technical analysis and optimisation of spare part lists.
Manage supplier's recommendations for quality, completeness, and availability.
Present spares analysis to the Joint Management Spares Team for approval.
Engage with the commercial team to negotiate better supplier arrangements.
Maintain Interfaces & Develop Relationships
Forge connections across various HPC departments and with our wider industry partners. Your role will involve researching operational experience from applicable industries, ensuring HPC becomes a world-class performer.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in spares optimisation and inventory management.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management systems.
Strong report writing skills.
HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering or Science.
