Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company have a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and have a brilliant company culture of looking after their employees. This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician / BESS Technician comes with an excellent salary, depending on your experience and at the request of the client, will be discussed upon conversation with Astute.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Manager you will:
Ensure the best performance of large scale solar assets and battery storage units by performing specialist maintenance and upgrade works to inverters.
Use remote access tools to assist on site teams and troubleshoot potential faults.
Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery sites in the local region.
Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
Gain Authorised Person status after received training
Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
Occasional working way from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
Demonstrable understanding of inverters is essential
Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely preferred
Understanding of high voltage electrical systems, particularly within power generation would be a strong advantage
Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum
18th edition wiring regs
Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent
A HSE qualification is desired
UK driving licence is essential
Personal skills:
The Field Solar and Battery Storage Technician role would suit someone who is:
Flexible with location and in travelling outside of your patch on occasion
Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
Experience reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficial
Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference
Salary and benefits of the Solar and Battery Technician role:
A starting salary up to £45,000
On call allowance and potential overtime
Up to 10% bonus
