Data Architect – OLTP / Transactional Databases

Great opportunity to join a large payments company working on a complex, high-volume transactional platform.

Location: London or South East England – 3 days per week in the office

Contract: 6-month initial contract, rolling

Rate: £300–£370 per day Umbrella

What the role involves

Understanding and documenting a complex existing transactional platform
Designing OLTP and system-of-record databases
Creating conceptual, logical and physical data models
Defining data standards and maintaining architecture documentation
Working closely with developers and engineers to implement the architecture

Must have

Proven experience designing or modelling transactional / OLTP databases that have gone into production
Strong relational database design experience
experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle or SQL Server
Strong experience creating conceptual, logical and physical data models
Ability to produce clear technical documentation that developers and engineers can work from

Nice to have

experience with distributed or NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Google Spanner, Yugabyte or MongoDB
Banking, financial services or payments experience
experience with modelling tools such as ER/Studio or ErwinReminder: this role does not provide sponsorship. Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.
