Children's Residential Home Manager

New Brighton / Birkenhead

£51,000 plus bonuses

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as an Ofsted Registered Manager. This role is for a brand new home opening within a well-established group.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and welfare for children and young people in our organisation. This is a crucial role that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the regulatory framework.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and standards, including maintaining and updating all necessary documentation and records.

Lead and manage a team of dedicated staff members, providing guidance, support, and supervision as needed.

Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the well-being and safety of children and young people in our care.

Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks and ensure the physical and emotional safety of all individuals.

Collaborate with external agencies, such as social services and healthcare professionals, to coordinate care and support for children and young people.

Maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians and ensure effective communication regarding the well-being and progress of the children and young people.

Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes equality, diversity, and respect for all individuals.

Monitor and review the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.

Keep abreast of developments in childcare regulations, best practices, and emerging trends to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Hold a relevant qualification in social work, childcare, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent).

* Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial role within a residential childcare setting.

* Possess a thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspection processes.

* Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team.

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with staff, children, parents, and external stakeholders.

* Sound judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in challenging situations.

* Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.

* Commitment to promoting the well-being and development of children and young people.

* Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.

* Experience working with children and young people with diverse backgrounds and complex needs is desirable.
