Description:

Role: 66kV SAP (Senior Authorised Person)
Location: Offshore Wind Farm UK
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12 Months + Possible Extension
Rotation: 2/2
Rates: £750 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance: BPSS

Key Accountabilities

The responsibilities of the HV SAP include:

Adherence to health and safety requirements and help to maintain and improve safety standards
Maintain Senior Authorised Person status at increasing voltages.
Become fully conversant and make sure that all works are undertaken in accordance with the client Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Safety Rule Instructions, this will include but is not limited to:

Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documents
Carrying out switching, isolation and earthing duties
Preparing switching schedules
Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments
Producing maintenance plans for HV equipment
Maintaining the asset register
Management and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment
Producing final reports
Carry out basic protection testing on HV related equipment. Complex protection relay testing is desirable.
Undertaking troubleshooting and fault-finding on client controlled plant/equipment.
Carrying out inductions for sub-contractors and deliver Competent Person Training.
Keeping in close communication with HV Control and Project Lead SAP
Reacting to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstances
Other duties commensurate with the role

Knowledge

Essential:

HV Safe Systems of Work
Knowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance
Detailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rules
Detailed knowledge of HV equipment
HV installation & maintenance practices

Desirable:

Knowledge of Working offshore
Earthing system installation and test. Protection system installation and test.

Skills

Essential:

Strong approach to safe working practices
Excellent communication skills
Good people skills
Ability to coordinate multiple activities whilst ensuring safety and quality are maintained
Ability to identify problems, conduct analysis and develop solutions

Experience

Essential:

SAP Experience 66kV or upwards
Operation and maintenance of HV Equipment
Experience in fault finding on HV equipment.
Commissioning HV plant and equipment.
Basic HV protection testing

Desirable:

Will have worked offshore before but not essential.
Complex Protection relay testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

Essential:

Previously held SAP authorisation under high voltage electrical safety rules at 66kV or above
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
Full Offshore GWOs
HUET + CAEBs
Medical & Chester Step

Desirable:

Electrical Engineering HND or equivalent industry experience
