I'm currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established international freight forwarding business, for an Ocean Import Operator to join their growing imports team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid ocean freight and customs knowledge who wants to broaden their skillset into multimodal freight.

If you already have experience across road or air freight, that's a definite advantage-but if not, my client is committed to providing full training and development to help you expand your expertise.

Hybrid working - 2 days working from home.
Monday to Friday working hours (9:00am - 5:30pm).
Annual performance bonus.
28 days holiday in your first year.
33 days holiday from your second year onwards.
Ongoing training and development in road and air freight.
Genuine long-term career progression with a globally recognised logistics organisation.
Supportive team environment with excellent opportunities to broaden your freight forwarding expertise.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end ocean import process, ensuring shipments move efficiently while delivering an exceptional service to customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing full ocean import shipments from origin through to final delivery.
Completing full customs clearances accurately and compliantly.
Liaising with shipping lines, customers, hauliers and overseas offices.
Preparing and processing all import documentation.
Coordinating deliveries and resolving any shipment issues.
Ensuring all files are completed accurately and within agreed KPIs.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment. If you're looking for your next opportunity with a business that values development, offers excellent flexibility, and provides the chance to build a true multimodal freight career, I'd love to hear from you.
