Ocean Export Operations Specialist
Location: Denton, Manchester
Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Working Arrangement: Full-time, office-based
Are you an experienced Ocean Export Operator looking for your next move? Do you have a strong background in both FCL and LCL exports and enjoy taking ownership of shipments from start to finish?
We're working with a well-established freight forwarding business in Denton, Manchester, who are looking to recruit an Ocean Export Operations Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid ocean export experience who enjoys a varied, hands-on role in a busy freight forwarding environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing ocean export shipments across both FCL and LCL, ensuring bookings are handled efficiently, customers are kept informed and any operational issues are resolved promptly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing ocean export shipments across both FCL and LCL.
Handling export pricing and obtaining competitive rates.
Making export bookings directly through shipping line and carrier websites.
Liaising with customers, overseas agents and shipping lines to coordinate shipments.
Monitoring shipments and keeping all parties updated throughout the process.
Resolving day-to-day operational issues and proactively managing any challenges.
Ensuring export documentation and shipment details are accurate and completed on time.
Building strong working relationships with customers, carriers and overseas partners.
About You
We're looking for someone with a solid understanding of ocean export operations who can hit the ground running.
Ideally, you'll have:
Previous experience in ocean export freight forwarding.
A good working knowledge of both FCL and LCL shipments.
Experience with export pricing and rate enquiries.
Confidence booking shipments directly with shipping lines and carriers.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing operational challenges.
The ability to organise your workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
What's on Offer?
Salary of £36,000 - £40,000, depending on experience.
Monday to Friday working week.
Full-time, office-based position in Denton, Manchester.
