Salary: Circa £36,000 per annum
Hybrid working: 2 days per week from home
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

We are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join a well-established freight forwarding business based in Solihull.

The Role
As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will manage ocean import shipments from start to finish, providing customers with a professional and reliable service throughout the entire process.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing ocean import shipments from initial booking through to final delivery
Acting as the main point of contact for customers
Liaising with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and internal departments
Monitoring vessel schedules and shipment progress
Preparing and processing import documentation
Completing import customs clearance instructions
Arranging collections, deliveries and onward transportation
Managing bills of lading and shipping documents
Providing customers with regular shipment updates
Resolving operational issues and shipment delays
Producing quotations and checking supplier costs
Completing files through to invoicing
Maintaining accurate records within the freight management system
Delivering a high level of customer service throughout the shipment process
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous ocean freight import experience
Experience managing shipments from start to finish
Strong knowledge of import documentation and shipping procedures
Excellent customer service and communication skills
The ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
Confidence working independently and as part of a close-knit team
Previous freight forwarding experience
