A specialist education setting in London is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026.

This Occupational Therapist role would suit a qualified professional with experience working with children and young people, particularly within specialist education, autism or SEND settings. The successful Occupational Therapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing assessment, advice and practical strategies to help pupils access learning and develop their skills.

Occupational Therapist - The Role

As an Occupational Therapist based in London, you will work closely with pupils, education staff, families and other professionals to identify occupational needs and develop appropriate strategies.

The Occupational Therapist will be involved in:

Assessing pupils' occupational needs and functional skills

Developing and reviewing individual therapy programmes

Providing practical strategies to support participation in learning and school activities

Supporting sensory regulation and sensory processing needs

Working alongside teachers and other professionals to embed therapeutic strategies within the school day

Monitoring progress and adapting interventions where appropriate

Providing advice and guidance to education staff

Maintaining accurate clinical and pupil records

Contributing to multidisciplinary meetings and discussions

Working with families and other professionals where required

Occupational Therapist - About You

The school is looking for an Occupational Therapist who can work effectively within a specialist education environment and provide practical, pupil-focused interventions.

The successful Occupational Therapist will have:

A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification

Current HCPC registration

Experience working with children or young people

Knowledge of autism and/or SEND is desirable

An understanding of sensory processing and regulation

Strong communication and organisational skills

The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

A practical approach to developing therapy strategies within an education setting

The ability to maintain accurate and confidential records

Occupational Therapist - London

This is a full-time, long-term Occupational Therapist position based in London, starting in September 2026.

The Occupational Therapist will work within a specialist education environment supporting autistic children and young people, working alongside education and therapeutic professionals to help pupils engage with learning and develop functional skills.

This Occupational Therapist opportunity offers the chance to become an established member of the wider school and therapy team, with a focus on providing consistent therapeutic input throughout the placement.
