Class Nurture Teacher

· Alternative Provision

· Teaching very small classes of KS3 / KS4

· Maths and English and planning support

· 9am – 230pm Monday to Friday

· Bolton

· Immediate start £120-£180 per day

· Temporary with the potential to go permanent

Premier Education is currently working on behalf of a small alternative provision in Bolton who are looking for a nurture teacher for the remainder of the year. The role would require the candidate to teach very small classes of KS3 and KS4 students with Special Educational Needs, predominately SEMH who are taking some time out of mainstream education before being placed in a more permanent specialist school.

Many of the children do suffer with anxiety and mental health needs so you would need to be sensitive to their needs and provide a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working with pupils with a wide range social, emotional and mental health needs and have a proven track-record as a teacher. However, the school will consider ECTs or experienced primary teachers wishing to further their teaching career within an SEN setting. Most importantly, you must have a genuine interest in supporting SEND pupils. Experience with young people with challenging behaviour is essential.

The provision is based on excellent road and public transport links and offers the flexibility to fit around other school hours for candidates with children. It is an ideal starting point for those wishing to begin a career within the SEND sector.

The successful candidate will:

· Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development

· Have experience of teaching young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs within the primary or secondary sector or have a specific interest in developing their teaching skills in a special school setting.

· Have high expectations of young people, and a commitment to raising standards of attainment to ensure that they can achieve their full educational potential

· Have experience of enhancement of pupil progress gains and raising attainment and achievement levels of all students

· Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet individual needs

· Have experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and pupil progress tracking to ensure that all groups of learners achieve

· Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex needs

* Be able to build positive relationships with the class group, ensuring consistency and continuity on a daily basis.

· Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community

* Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development

· Be a team player who can work effectively with all members of the team
