The Role

You will create a safe, welcoming and stimulating nursery environment, helping children learn, explore and develop through play-based activities. You’ll work alongside other Early Years professionals to support children’s individual development, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Role Responsibilities

Support children’s learning and development through engaging activities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
Create a nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe and stimulated
Encourage communication, confidence and independence in children
Support personal, social and emotional development
Monitor and observe progress, contributing to developmental records
Assist with children’s routines and individual needs
Foster positive relationships between children
Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals in the nursery
Uphold high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing
Communicate effectively with team members and parents/carers 

Skills and Experience

Recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting
Understanding of the EYFS framework
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to build positive relationships with young children
Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to work
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Paediatric First Aid (desirable)
Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Ability to provide suitable references covering your last 24 months
