Description:

Nursery Cook / Monday to Friday / 8:00am – 2:00pm / £13.00–£13.50 per Hour / TE62866

We are looking for a passionate and reliable nursery cook to join our friendly early years team. If you enjoy preparing fresh, nutritious meals for young children and take pride in maintaining high food safety standards, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As our nursery cook, you will play an important role in supporting children's health, wellbeing, and development through delicious, balanced meals prepared with care.

This is a part-time position working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 2:00pm, offering an excellent work-life balance with no evenings or weekend shifts. The hourly rate is £13.00–£13.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

As the nursery cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing daily meals, including breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, and afternoon tea, ensuring all meals are nutritious, appealing, and suitable for children's dietary requirements. You will cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural or religious dietary needs while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

This role involves lone working, so we are looking for a confident and organised nursery cook who can work independently, manage their time effectively, and take ownership of the kitchen. You will be responsible for ordering stock, monitoring food supplies, rotating stock correctly, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations at all times.

The successful nursery cook will have previous experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably within a nursery, school, or childcare setting, although applicants with relevant catering experience are also encouraged to apply. A good understanding of food hygiene procedures, allergen management, and healthy eating guidelines is essential. A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, or you must be willing to obtain one.

As our nursery cook, you will work closely with the nursery management team to create seasonal menus and help provide a positive mealtime experience for the children. Your ability to prepare fresh, home-style meals and maintain a welcoming kitchen environment will make a real difference every day.

We value our employees and offer a range of benefits, including:

* Competitive hourly pay of £13.00–£13.50 per hour

* Monday to Friday working pattern

* Working hours of 8:00am–2:00pm

* No evenings or weekends

* Company pension scheme

* Employee wellbeing support

* Ongoing training and professional development opportunities

* Discounted childcare (where applicable)

* Paid holiday entitlement

* Friendly and supportive working environment

* Staff recognition and appreciation initiatives

* Free on-site parking (where available)

If you are a dependable, enthusiastic nursery cook who enjoys preparing healthy meals for young children and thrives in an independent role, we would love to hear from you. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nursery cook to become part of a caring nursery where your skills and dedication will be valued every day.
