Nursery Practitioner – Level 2 & Level 3
Location: Torquay, Devon
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £14.25 – £16.00 per hour
Contract: Flexible / Day-to-Day / Short-Term / Long-Term

TeacherActive is working with some fantastic nurseries and Early Years settings across Torquay and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for friendly, enthusiastic and caring Level 2 and Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioners to join us!
We know that every practitioner is different. Some love the variety of working in different nurseries, while others prefer building relationships within one setting. That's why we offer flexible day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities to suit your availability and preferences.
Whether you're looking for a few days a week, extra hours or something more consistent, we'd love to have a chat about what works best for you!
What we're looking for:
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years
Previous experience working in a nursery or Early Years environment
Ability to drive and reliably commute to nursery settings across Torquay and surrounding areas
A warm, caring and enthusiastic personality
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
Good understanding of the EYFS framework
Confidence working with different age groups, from babies to preschool
A flexible, reliable and positive approach
Paediatric First Aid qualification (desirable but not essential)
What will your days look like?
No two days in a nursery are ever quite the same!
You could be helping little ones discover something new, getting creative with messy play, supporting a child's first steps towards independence or simply being that reassuring, friendly face that makes their day brighter.
Your responsibilities will include:
Creating fun and engaging play-based learning experiences
Supporting children's emotional, social and physical development
Helping with daily routines, mealtimes and personal care
Encouraging independence, confidence and curiosity
Building positive relationships with children and nursery teams
Maintaining a safe, happy and welcoming environment
Following EYFS and safeguarding guidelines
