Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: London, W1G 6BW
Salary: £22.00 -£31.00ph
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Temporary / Full-Time

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Nuclear Medicine team at a leading private healthcare provider in Central London.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Nuclear Medicine professional to work with advanced imaging technology and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality diagnostic imaging service. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing exceptional patient care while supporting the ongoing development of the Nuclear Medicine department.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

* Perform routine and specialised Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures to a consistently high standard.

* Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals under aseptic conditions.

* Perform venepuncture and cannulation for the administration of radioactive substances.

* Provide patients and carers with clear information regarding procedures, preparation and aftercare.

* Ensure patients receive safe, compassionate and efficient care throughout their journey.

* Support the introduction of new techniques, procedures and technologies within the department.

* Maintain high standards of image quality and technical performance.

* Carry out daily quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.

* Assist with organising patient workflow and departmental throughput.

* Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicists, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

* DCR or BSc in Radiography.

* Postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualification.

* HCPC Registration.

Experience

* Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience working within Nuclear Medicine.

* Experience performing routine Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures independently.

* Experience with radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration.

Knowledge

* Strong understanding of Nuclear Medicine imaging techniques and protocols.

* Knowledge of radiation protection legislation and safe working practices.

* Working knowledge of:

* IR(ME)R

* Quality Assurance programmes

* PACS

* Nuclear Medicine processing software

* Healthcare Information Systems

Skills

* Excellent clinical and technical skills.

* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
