Role Overview

Our client is seeking an NPI Manager to lead a cross-functional team in developing new products aligned with the roadmaps of all their Specialised Divisions. The goal is to complete all major projects within 18 months, covering product development and the commissioning of production test equipment.

Key Responsibilities of an NPI Manager:

Roadmap Alignment: Stay updated on divisional product roadmaps and identify bid opportunities for the Technology Team.

Project Delivery: Ensure safe, accurate, and timely delivery of NPI solutions within budget and cost targets. Advocate for the customer's needs within the team.

Team Development: Strengthen the NPI team through effective recruitment, objective setting, and skill development for a diverse engineering team.

Talent Management: Identify and develop future talent, including succession planning. Mentor and guide the team to tackle increasingly complex challenges.

Innovation and IP: Drive innovation by identifying intellectual property opportunities for new products and staying aware of industry trends and competitor solutions.

Testing Strategies: Develop and implement clear production testing strategies for NPI introduction and quick response strategies for production line or field issues.

Budget Management: Oversee the NPI cost-centre budget and headcount, ensuring accurate forecasts and spending reports. Assist in managing and developing the Engineering team and achieving site objectives and goals.

Technical Governance: Ensure robust technical governance for safety, design quality, and long-term reliability.

As an NPI Manager you will have:

A degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering.

Strong knowledge of electronics design (analogue and high-speed digital) with practical application experience.

Experience in developing and improving product development processes.

Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English, and the ability to make informed decisions based on business knowledge. Strong leadership and influencing capabilities.

Significant experience in a global engineering environment, working with international teams on electronics and product solutions.

Experience in regulated, compliance-driven industries with a deep understanding of product safety and compliance.

Project management experience with both Waterfall and Agile (SCRUM) methodologies.

Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
