A fantastic opportunity for an experienced NPI / Manufacturing Engineer based in or near Greenwich to join a leading engineering business developing highly complex, high-reliability products used within advanced telecommunications applications.

This NPI / Manufacturing Engineer job offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of New Product Introduction (NPI), supporting the transition of innovative products from R&D through to full-scale manufacture. The successful candidate will work closely with Design Engineering, R&D and Manufacturing teams to develop robust, repeatable production processes while introducing new equipment, tooling and assembly methods. This role is ideal for an experienced Manufacturing or NPI Engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges within a precision engineering environment.

NPI / Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities

* Support the introduction of new products from prototype into full-scale manufacturing.

* Work closely with Design Engineering and R&D teams to ensure products are suitable for manufacture.

* Develop and optimise manufacturing and assembly processes for new product introductions.

* Introduce and validate new manufacturing equipment, tooling and production methods.

* Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles to improve manufacturability, quality and production efficiency.

* Develop manufacturing documentation, process instructions and assembly procedures.

* Support specialist manufacturing processes including:

* Adhesive bonding (gluing)

* Surface preparation and abrasion processes

* Precision welding

* Identify manufacturing issues during product introduction and implement practical engineering solutions.

* Support prototype builds, production trials and process validation activities.

* Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to ensure successful product launches.

* Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance manufacturing capability and product quality.

NPI / Manufacturing Engineer Job Requirements

* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

* Minimum of 8 years' experience within Manufacturing Engineering or New Product Introduction (NPI).

* Proven experience introducing new products from prototype through to production.

* Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.

* Experience developing manufacturing processes, assembly methods and production documentation.

* Experience introducing new manufacturing equipment, tooling or production processes.

* Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills.

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
