Rullion have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Engineer to work with various Rolling Stock / Rail Depots in the Northern Region of the UK.

Duration and Location:
This is a long term contract role that will be based out of Longsight Manchester Rail Depot - M12 4HR,
You will be required to travel to other Rail Depots in the North Region as of when required.

Hours:
Typical working hours are 37 hours per week over a 5 day working week.
Travel time will be permitted as of when required when travelling to other locations.

Rates:
Pre 12 Weeks: (Pro Rata 28 days holiday - PAYE only)

Rostered Hours: PAYE: £22.55 per hour / Umbrella: £28.75 per hour

Un Rostered Hours: PAYE: £22.55 per hour / Umbrella: £29.19 per hour

Post 12 Weeks: (Pro Rata 34 days holiday - PAYE only)

Rostered Hours: PAYE: £22.55 per hour / Umbrella: £30.29 per hour

Un Rostered Hours: PAYE: £22.55 per hour / Umbrella: £30.74 per hour

Successful candidate will be provided equipment by our client including a laptop.
There is no vehicle provided, however can claim expenses in line with the clients policy.

Please note that this role is subject to Drugs & Alcohol testing, due to working in a safety critical environment.

Role:
You will be reporting to the Materials Manager who reports into the Head of Logistics UK & Ireland.
The Logistics Engineer is responsible for understanding the needs of the logistics business and transforming those specifics into clear and efficient solutions to support the logistics requirements.

Continuous Improvement - 5's and SPSYS to support Supply Chain continuous improvement.

Project Planning - To view bill of materials/warehouse/store stocks and assess storage mediums.

Site Demobilisation/Mobilisation - Obtain clear objectives of the requirement and have clear dates of completions.

Environmental, Safety &v Health - Must insure that has adequate knowledge to follow our clients H&S programme.

Performance Management:

Skills & Attributes:

Proven management skills with ability to optimise team performance

Strong planning skills with ability to manage multiple projects

AutoCAD skills

Performance Measurement:

Management of safety/quality/delivery/costs

Staff matrices and objectives

Missing parts and customer satisfaction (internal/external)

Inventory levels and accuracy

SAP supply chain data quality objectives are met

Tooling and material supply

Qualifications and Experience:
Preferred but not essential - Degree or HND in relevant category.
Good understanding of material handling equipment and automated storage systems.
Preferred but not essential - Kaizen 2p, Waste, VSM, 5's, Quality Standards and sound EHS knowledge.
Experience within Supply Chain, Logistics, transportation, warehouse and stores procedures with at least 3 years experience in warehouse/materials management.
