Bells of Lazonby have an exciting opportunity for a Nightshift Food Production Operative to join the team.

Location: Lazonby, Cumbria, CA10 1BG

Salary: From £16.56 per hour, plus 25% overtime rates

Job Type: Full - Time, Permanent

Schedule: Various shift patterns available

About Us:

At Bells of Lazonby, baking has been at the heart of what we do since 1946. Still independently owned by the Bell family, we combine craft skills with large-scale production to create products we’re proud of, and we know the secret ingredient behind our success is our people. We have two bakeries on site in Lazonby – a conventional bakery and a dedicated “free from” bakery, from which we supply many high street coffee shops and major supermarkets with sweet bakery treats, such as cakes, traybakes, pies and tarts.

Nightshift Food Production Operative - Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated Gluten Free Production Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery and assembling food products in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively within a team to meet production goals.

Please note that the role involves heavy manual labour and standing for long periods of time therefore physical strength and dexterity is important.

Shifts Available:

Hours are 38.75 per week worked over 5 days starting on a Sunday. Start time are at mixture of 6pm and 8pm, depending on production needs.

Nightshift Food Production Operative - The Role:

- Follow work instructions and recipes to complete tasks efficiently

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production

- Operate food production equipment safely and effectively

- Work on different production lines as required

- Weighing and checking raw materials before production

- Ensuring correct product labelling and packaging

- Complete quality and safety paperwork as necessary

- Ensure products meet the required quality standards

- Reporting any faults or issues with machinery to supervisors

Nightshift Food Production Operative - You:

- Physically fit and dexterous to perform manual handling tasks

- Ability to speak and understand English

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Able to maintain focus on repetitive tasks

- Excellent attention to detail

- Flexible with work duties and willing to adapt as needed
