Our leading composite manufacturing client in Banbury is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nightshift Quality Inspector to join their expanding, high-performance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-driven professional passionate about precision inspection and ensuring composite components meet the highest standards of accuracy, performance, and craftsmanship.

The Role

As a Nightshift Quality Inspector, you will be pivotal in inspecting and verifying advanced composite components throughout the manufacturing process. Utilising a range of metrology equipment and inspection techniques, you will ensure all components meet engineering specifications while contributing to continuous improvement and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect composite components using various metrology equipment and inspection methods.
Conduct visual inspections and dimensional verification with hand-held measuring instruments.
Programme and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) where required – desirable but not essential.
Use Romer Arms for probing and scanning activities.
Ensure inspections and processing are completed within required production timescales.
Accurately record inspection results and maintain up-to-date quality documentation.
Communicate inspection findings clearly and effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams.
Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions when quality issues arise.
Identify opportunities to improve inspection methods and quality processes, promoting continuous improvement.
Assist with metallic component inspections as needed.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and quality standards and procedures.

About You

To excel in this role, you will have:

A recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection setting.
Proven experience inspecting composite components, ideally within motorsport, automotive, aerospace, marine, or other high-performance manufacturing sectors.
A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience using a variety of inspection and metrology equipment, including hand measurement tools and CMMs.
Familiarity with Romer Arms.
Experience with PolyWorks software is highly advantageous.
Sound knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials, including composites and metals.
The ability to independently assess component conformity and make informed quality decisions.
Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Working Hours

Weekday night shift, Monday to Thursday (40 hours over 4 nights), 8:00pm – 6:30am
