We are seeking a skilled and reliable Night Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at a prestigious commercial building in Holborn. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced building services engineer looking for a stable nights role with a company that offers excellent benefits, ongoing training, and genuine career progression.
The Role
As a Night Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all building services systems through planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance. You will play a key role in maintaining critical plant and ensuring minimal disruption to the client.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and electrical plant.
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
* Fault find, diagnose and repair building services equipment.
* Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, lighting, and associated plant.
* Complete maintenance records and reports accurately using the site's CAFM system.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures.
* Liaise with the day engineering team to ensure a smooth handover between shifts.
* Support contractors and specialist service providers when required.
* Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
What We're Looking For
* Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
* Experience working within commercial building maintenance.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of HVAC and building services systems.
* Good understanding of statutory compliance and health & safety regulations.
* Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
* Experience using CAFM systems is advantageous.
