Night Carer in Bray, SL6. Friday and Saturday night shifts available on a permanent basis to support a cheerful, happy and engaging 10-year-old boy with Special Education Needs. Offering £167.52 Gross per Shift.

About this client/child: Jake is a cheeky, energetic, and outgoing young chap with a love for swimming, train rides and water play! He enjoys playing in his sensory room and in general creating some mischief! Jake lives at home in Bray, Berkshire with his family and has a care team who provide day and night support. He has Autism Spectrum Condition, a Learning Disability, Global Development Delay, and a Visual Impairment. When at home Jake is mobile, and when outside or for longer journeys he uses his wheelchair. Jake strives for his independence, and his family and team support and assist him to reach all his targets and goals.
Overview of role: The Night Carer will start their shift at 9.00pm, and will read Jake’s care and handover notes from the day support worker; Jake is usually settled in bed and asleep at this time and you will be alerted via a video monitor if Jake needs assistance during the night (personal care, settling back to sleep etc.) We do not expect that the Night Carer will have regular sleep disturbance, however, if Jake is having a particularly difficult night; you will be paid a waking night rate (£19.00 gross per hour). Additional hours are available during the week, weekend, and school holidays if desired. In the morning you will assist Jake with getting ready for the day ahead. The morning shifts start at 5.00am, as Jake can be an early riser.
Who this job would suit: A dedicated, robust and trustworthy Night Carer, perhaps you are studying, or looking for a part-time role to fit in with other commitments; this will be the ideal position for you. Bespoke person centred training is provided, although it is essential that you have some night care and childcare experience. Due to the family home location, you must be a driver with your own car.
