About the Role:
Bring music to life as a Music Teacher in a South Stevenage secondary school and sixth form, supporting young people aged 11 to 18.
You will teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, developing students confidence in performance, composition and musical understanding. Through engaging, carefully planned lessons, you will prepare learners for GCSE Music while supporting different abilities and encouraging creativity.
Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to concerts, productions, clubs and curriculum development. Join an inclusive school community that values positive relationships, purposeful teaching and fresh ideas for getting students involved.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have:
Qualified Teacher Status or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching secondary Music at Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE preparation.
Strong subject knowledge in theory, composition and performance.
The right to work in the UK.
A commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and teach engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Prepare students for GCSE Music, including practical and theoretical work.
Adapt teaching to support and challenge learners of different abilities.
Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain clear behaviour expectations and a purposeful learning environment.
Support concerts, ensembles and other extracurricular musical activities.
