Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Earlies and Lates - 2 Shift)

Location: Tyne & Wear

Working Pattern: Full Time (Earlies and Lates)

An established manufacturing business is seeking a proactive and skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation that continues to invest in its people, equipment and facilities.

Working within a fast-paced production environment, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting operational performance across the site.

The Role

As part of an experienced engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining manufacturing equipment through a combination of planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault finding activities.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
Support maintenance activities across production machinery and site assets.
Assist with equipment upgrades, improvement projects and installations.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing reliability and efficiency.
Work collaboratively with production and operational teams.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.

About You

We are looking for candidates who possess:

A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
A proactive and flexible approach to problem solving.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Experience

Electrical qualifications and training.
Experience working with automated machinery.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience within a manufacturing environment.

Working Hours

This position operates on a rotating shift pattern. Flexibility may be required to support operational requirements.
