Employee Assistance ProgrammeI'm currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a World Leading Manufacturing business based in Burton-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to join a highly automated production environment with excellent long-term career prospects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum machine availability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Role Description
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities across manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding on production machinery.
Support continuous improvement projects aimed at improving reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
Work closely with production teams to optimise machine performance and output.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete necessary documentation.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled).
Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills.
Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery (Siemens experience desirable).
Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience within FMCG, Automotive, Distribution, Packaging, or Medical manufacturing environments would be advantageous.This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading organisation that continues to invest heavily in its people, technology, and manufacturing facilities.
