Multilingual Education Support Specialist

Location: Tottenham, North London
Pay: £80 to £105 per day
Position: 1-year fixed term, term time only
Start Date: September 2024

Role Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Multilingual Education Support Specialists to join our experienced Ethnic Minority Achievement team. This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong commitment to supporting young people who speak English as an additional language. The successful candidates must possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and one of the required languages.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality EAL (English as an Additional Language) support and interventions.
Support the academic progress of EAL pupils across English, Maths, and Science.
Provide in-class support and deliver small group interventions.
Offer prompt and accurate translation and interpreting services.
Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and the local community.
Candidate Requirements:

Right to work in the UK.
Excellent literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
Proven track record in delivering effective EAL interventions and in-class support.
In-depth knowledge of secondary school curricula, particularly in English, Maths, and Science.
Strong interpersonal skills: professional, flexible, patient, reliable, and efficient under pressure.
