We are currently looking for a Multi Trade Operative to work across the Wigan area for a well-established social housing contractor.

This opportunity is with an established contractor delivering high-volume responsive repairs and maintenance works within occupied social housing properties. We’re looking for experienced Multi-Trade Operatives who are looking for a long-term opportunity.

I’d be keen to speak to anyone with experience working within social housing repairs, property maintenance, refurbishment or reactive maintenance, whether you’ve previously worked as a Plumber Multi Trade, Carpenter Multi Trade, Maintenance Operative, Repairs Operative, Plumber, Carpenter or in a similar role.

The more trades you can cover, the better — candidates with additional skills such as plastering and tiling will be highly desirable.

As a Multi Trade Operative, you will be:

Carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance works within occupied social housing properties
Completing plumbing repairs, bathroom repairs and general multi-trade works
Undertaking additional trades including patch plastering, tiling, carpentry and decorating where skilled
Diagnosing faults and completing repairs to a high standard with a right-first-time approach
Working professionally within tenants’ homes and providing excellent customer service
Managing your own workload and completing jobs efficiently throughout the day
Ensuring company vehicles, tools and equipment are used responsibly
Completing accurate electronic paperwork and following company health and safety proceduresI’d love to speak to anyone who has:

Proven experience working within social housing repairs, property maintenance or a similar environment
Strong plumbing skills and a broad multi-trade background
Experience in additional trades such as plastering, tiling, carpentry or decorating
The ability to work independently and complete high-quality workmanship
A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach
A full UK driving licence
The ability to pass a DBS check if required in the future (a DBS is not required at this stage)
No formal trade qualifications or tickets are required — practical experience is keyThis Multi Trade Operative role is offering the following benefits:

£35,000 per annum
Company van and fuel card
28 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

The role covers Ashton-in-Makerfield, Billinge, Hindley, Wigan and the surrounding areas. Candidates will be expected to travel between customer properties throughout the day, with a company vehicle provided.
