The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Reading.

This is a fast-paced production environment where you'll become part of a highly skilled engineering team responsible for ensuring maximum machinery reliability and plant performance. The business continues to invest heavily in both its people and equipment, offering excellent long-term career prospects and ongoing technical development.

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance activities, diagnose faults, minimise downtime, and contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and diagnose faults efficiently.
Conduct both electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
Work collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime.
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
Accurately complete maintenance documentation and reports.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, FMCG, processing, distribution, or industrial environment.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
Experience carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance.
Recognised engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Multi-Skilled or equivalent).
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.

Desirable Experience

PLC fault-finding experience, including working with inputs and outputs.
Experience working on conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, pumps, pneumatics, and control systems.
Previous experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
