A Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician is required by a leading engineering organisation based in Chester. This is a permanent role with a salary of £48,698pa and will work across a bi-weekly rotating schedule, Week 1 Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00 and Week 2 Monday to Thursday 13:00 to 22:00 and Friday 13:00 to 17:00. My client specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of steel products providing high quality, tailored solutions for customers in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. All work is carried out from their head offices in Chester, offering state-of-the-art design, fabrication, machining, and assembly work.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager your key responsibilities for this Maintenance Technician role will be:

* Maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, and associated plant to a high standard.

* Fault finding, diagnosing, and responding to breakdowns, efficiently rectifying the equipment.

* Working on planned preventative maintenance and improvements to plant and equipment.

* Completing and controlling all necessary documentation around engineering activities.

* Assisting with driving continuous improvement and lean activities.

Key skills and experience required for this Maintenance Technician role will ideally include:

* Proven relevant experience gained post Apprenticeship.

* Be a time served Engineer in a manufacturing environment, with a City and Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

* Good working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems with at least a basic understanding/experience with electrical systems.

* Working knowledge of PPM schedules.

* Excellent fault-finding skills for mechanical drive systems, and pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

* Ability to read engineering drawings and maintain machinery, plant, and equipment.

* Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a busy manufacturing environment.

* Ability to undertake medium to heavy mechanical fitting work as and when required.
